Every day, in every community in Southeastern Michigan, there are families struggling to afford basic needs like food, shelter and child care. Whether providing immediate help during times of crisis or building a foundation for long-term stability, United Way is there to Light The Way to a brighter future. It’s only possible because of your support.

When families struggle to pay a utility bill or put food on the table, United Way’s 2-1-1 helpline connects them with the resources they need to get by.

When students risk falling behind due to a lack of access to reading materials or technology, United Way is there to distribute books, laptops and other tools.

And as our community works to address racial and systemic inequities in Southeastern Michigan, United Way is there to provide grant funding and support to local organizations focused on racial justice and equity work.

Making a difference together

At thyssenkrupp Materials NA, we’re happy to once again be offering our annual United Way campaign as your opportunity to unite with other members of your community to help those in need. Our company has a rich history of cooperation with United Way, and we hope you will lend your support to this worthwhile program.

By donating to United Way, you help provide life-changing opportunities for children and families throughout your local communities. When children succeed in school, when families are financially stable, and when people have access to basics like food and shelter, then the whole community benefits.

You have the chance to help the less fortunate people in your local community by making a pledge to the United Way campaign for 2025. Please consider pledging a continual amount through your paycheck. Just $10 a week will cover safe and temporary housing for 10 homeless individuals or if you don’t feel like you can pledge a continual donation, please consider a one-time donation of $25, $50, or more. Through our United Way campaign, your donation makes a difference.

The company matches all contributions our employees make so you can make double the impact on your community. Through your generosity, you are enriching lives and providing people with a sense of hope and power to create a better tomorrow. We all share a stake in our local region’s future and it’s critical that we do our part. Thus, your donations will go directly to your local community.
